  • ‘Proud to be PRIMET’

    Principal's welcome

Our vision is for Colne Primet Academy to be a key part in the educational journey of young people in Pendle and East Lancashire.

As part of Pendle Education Trust, a multi-academy trust sponsored by Nelson and Colne College, we strive to provide our students with the very best educational start in life. We have the very highest expectations and aspirations for our students, and always ensure that they have the support to achieve their goals.

  • Respectful

We are respectful to ourselves, always aiming for our best and making the most of all our opportunities. We are respectful to others, being kind with our actions and words. And we are respectful to our environment, at a local, national and global level.

  • Inclusive

All members of the academy are equally valued, and we appreciate the diversity within our academy community. Our curriculum ensures all students can make progress.

  • Motivated

We set high aspirations and are driven to meet them. We value the importance of working hard to achieve our goals and the rewards gained from reaching them.

  • Expressive

We communicate through fluent speech and writing and use creative methods to represent our knowledge and ideas. We value the work of others and what it conveys.

  • At last Thursday's Year 6 Open Event, Head Boy, Harris spoke to families about our curriculum offer. He said: "Here at Primet your child will have access to an abundance of subjects at GCSE alongside potential additional ones like further maths or a Higher Project qualification. "All of these subjects lead to different future routes, but this means there is something for everyone and it makes it easier to determine our own way to success as well. We recognise that the choices we take, start to define our destinations. "Our amazing teachers not only teach us what we need to know for our GCSE subjects but also push us to achieve the highest goals possible by providing us with all the resources necessary. Colne Primet Academy assists us in discovering what our next steps are, provides us with work experience and makes sure we have good careers advice. "Currently at Primet, there is more support available than ever before when it comes to careers with that set to increase by the time your child is in that position. We have two members of staff in school during the week – Miss Morris and Mrs Bielby, however we often get external visitors coming into school to provide extra advice, including our careers advisor who meets with all KS4 students to create a personalised plan." If you attended last week and still have questions about your child joining us in September 2026, or you were unable to attend last week, you can book a place on one of our small group tours here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/colne-primet-academy

  • Thank you once again to all of the families who attended our Open Event last night. We've put together some photos from the evening in this video and make sure you keep watching until the end for Mr Edwards' spectacular Science experiment. If you attended one of the talks in the Hall, you'll have heard from Year 7 students Zaeem and Evie. Zaeem told families that he chose to attend Primet because the values of the teachers and the effort that the school puts into each student's well-being stood out to him. Evie spoke about how she was nervous at first because she didn't know many people but has made friends and really enjoys school, in particular her PE lessons and form tutor. If you still have questions about your child joining Primet in September 2026, you can book a place on one of our small group tours here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/colne-primet-academy
